Yodel tracking

High-volume home delivery for the UK's biggest retailers — now part of the InPost group.

Yodel was the quiet giant of UK delivery: it moved millions of parcels a week for retailers, often with no warning and no branded van. In July 2026 the Yodel brand was retired and its deliveries moved under InPost — but millions of parcels still carry JD tracking numbers, which is why this page exists.

Track your Yodel parcel

Enter your Yodel tracking number below.

Yodel does not publish one single format on its tracking page. Use the reference exactly as the retailer sent it — the most common retailer format is an 18-character code starting JD, for example JD0002210160195973.

Yodel is now InPost — what changed

InPost acquired Yodel in April 2025, and on 17 July 2026 the Yodel brand was retired — deliveries, tracking and help now run under InPost. The old yodel.co.uk/track address redirects to InPost's tracker at inpost.co.uk/tracking, and you can also follow a parcel in the InPost app.

One thing that did change: contact now runs through InPost Customer Care (see below), not the old Yodel numbers — those are out of date, so don't use a number from an old forum post or third-party site.

Your Yodel tracking number

Yodel does not publish one single format on its tracking page. Use the reference exactly as the retailer sent it — the most common retailer format is an 18-character code starting JD, for example JD0002210160195973.

Example format: JD0002210160195973 — that is a shape, not a real parcel. Enter your own number exactly as the sender gave it: a single wrong letter is the most common reason a tracker says “not recognised”.

Yodel does not publish a single tracking-number format on its tracking page, and that is worth saying plainly: anyone who tells you every Yodel number looks the same is guessing. Yodel Direct bookings and marketplace parcels use different shapes, and older references can be shorter. The rule is simple: use the reference exactly as the retailer sent it, including the leading zeros.

Yodel services & delivery times

Home delivery (retailer parcels)
Varies by retailer

The exact time depends on the retailer and service booked; the tracker shows your parcel's estimate.

Sending a parcel (InPost)
Home within 4 working days; locker or shop within 3

InPost's own pages give these times for parcels you send yourself.

Returns
Back with the retailer within 5 working days

Yodel's own pages say returns should be back within 5 working days, though some stores take longer to confirm receipt.

Delivery aims are the courier's stated aims for the service, not guarantees for every parcel. Bank holidays, bad weather and busy periods (especially Christmas) can add a day.

Collecting from a locker or shop

If your parcel went to a locker or shop, you have 72 hours from the notification to collect it. Your pick-up details are in the InPost app, under Tracking → Receiving.

Can't get there yourself? Share the collection code with a friend or family member — they can pick it up for you.

⚠️ Ordered from a shop? Raise it with them first

If you ordered through a retailer or third party, raise queries with them first — InPost will still log the issue, but the sender is best placed to sort it, and only the sender can raise a claim.

What each Yodel status means

StatusWhat it meansWhat to do
Booked / label createdThe retailer booked the parcel; Yodel may not have it yet.Wait — and ask the retailer if days pass with no scan.
Collected / at depotYodel has the parcel and is sorting it at a regional depot.Nothing to do; the next scan is usually 'out for delivery'.
Out for deliveryWith your local courier today. It should arrive today. Make sure someone is in if a signature is needed.
DeliveredDelivered — check where it was left.Check safe places, neighbours and the delivery photo if one is shown.
Delivery attemptedThe courier came but couldn't deliver.Look for a calling card; it says what happens next and how to rearrange.
No update for daysThe parcel is between scans, or hasn't been scanned in yet.Yodel's own pages say to get in touch if there is no update for 72 hours after Yodel received the parcel.

Parcel stuck or delayed — what to do

  1. First, work out who has the parcel. If the tracker shows only 'booked', the retailer may not have handed it to Yodel yet — contact the retailer, not Yodel.
  2. Yodel's own tracking page says: if there's no tracking update for 72 hours after Yodel has received your parcel, get in touch with its Customer Care team and they'll investigate.
  3. International parcels can take up to a week to reach Yodel, so tracking may not update while the parcel is still making its way to the UK — that is normal, not a lost parcel.
  4. If it says delivered but you have nothing, check safe places, neighbours, and whether it was left with someone at the address. Then contact the retailer — only the sender can raise a claim.
  5. Keep the exact reference, including leading zeros — JD0002210160195973 is not the same number without its zeros, and a mistyped number returns nothing.

Yodel tracking — FAQs

What does a Yodel tracking number look like?

The most common retailer format is an 18-character code starting JD — for example JD0002210160195973. Other Yodel bookings use different shapes, and Yodel does not publish one official format, so use the reference exactly as the retailer sent it, leading zeros included.

How long does Yodel delivery take?

It depends on the retailer — the tracker shows your parcel's estimate. If you're sending a parcel yourself, InPost's own pages say home delivery within 4 working days and locker or shop delivery within 3. Returns should be back with the retailer within 5 working days.

Why has my Yodel tracking not updated?

Tracking only updates when the parcel is scanned. If Yodel hasn't received the parcel yet, nothing will show — ask the retailer. If Yodel has it and there's no update for 72 hours, Yodel's own pages say to contact its Customer Care team. International parcels can take up to a week to reach Yodel.

Is Yodel now InPost?

Yes. The Yodel brand was retired on 17 July 2026 and all of its operations moved under InPost. Track a Yodel parcel on InPost's tracker at inpost.co.uk/tracking — the old yodel.co.uk/track address redirects there — or use the InPost app.

What do I do if Yodel says delivered but I have nothing?

Check safe places and neighbours first, and look for a calling card. If it's still missing, contact the retailer you bought from — they are the sender, and only the sender can raise a claim with the courier.
