Whistl tracking
The tracker that stops halfway on purpose — InSight ends at Royal Mail handover.
Whistl is not a courier in the Royal Mail / Evri / DPD sense. It is a delivery manager: it collects parcels from retailers, sorts them, and hands them to someone else — DPD, Evri, Royal Mail or Yodel — for the last mile. Its tracker often stops mid-journey, and that is normal: the parcel has changed hands, not gone missing.
Track your Whistl parcel
Enter your tracking reference and the delivery postcode exactly as on the order — both are needed.
There is no single Whistl format — the reference depends on the service and the partner carrier. The portal accepts a tracking reference (also called a UPI or consignment number) plus your delivery postcode, exactly as on the order. Format examples only: 011B004A41000415204001 or L11324110MBJ108284.

The tracker that stops halfway, on purpose
Whistl is the UK's largest downstream-access operator — it takes parcels from retailers, sorts them, and hands them to someone else for the last mile. Its best-known consumer service, InSight, is part-tracked by design: you can follow the parcel through Whistl's network only as far as the handover to Royal Mail, then tracking stops and Royal Mail delivers it, typically one working day after handover.
Fully tracked parcels go further — through a partner carrier (DPD, Evri, Royal Mail or Yodel) to delivery, with the carrier's own events shown alongside Whistl's. So a Whistl page that just says “enter your number” would mislead; this page answers the question every Whistl recipient actually asks: why has my tracking stopped? Answer: it usually hasn't — it has changed hands.
Doordrop is not a parcel service: Whistl's unaddressed leaflet delivery has no tracking number — do not look for one.
Your Whistl tracking number
There is no single Whistl format — the reference depends on the service and the partner carrier. The portal accepts a tracking reference (also called a UPI or consignment number) plus your delivery postcode, exactly as on the order. Format examples only: 011B004A41000415204001 or L11324110MBJ108284.
Example format: 011B004A41000415204001 — that is a shape, not a real parcel. Enter your own number exactly as the sender gave it: a single wrong letter is the most common reason a tracker says “not recognised”.
If the reference does not work here, it may belong to the final-mile carrier (DPD, Evri, Royal Mail or Yodel) — the retailer can say which. Do not use whistl.co.uk/track: that is a business login page, not a public tracker.
What each Whistl status means
| Status | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Collected | Whistl has the parcel (tracker stage 1). | Nothing to do — the journey has started. |
| In Transit | Moving through Whistl's or the carrier's network (stage 2). | Wait for the next scan; gaps are normal. |
| At Delivery Depot | At the depot for the next stage (stage 3). | Nothing to do — the parcel is on its way to the final carrier. |
| Handed over to Delivery Carrier | Whistl has passed the parcel to the partner carrier; later events come from that carrier. | If it was Royal Mail (InSight), expect delivery one working day after handover — track the rest on Royal Mail. |
| Out for Delivery | Assigned for final delivery (stage 4). | Be ready — the final carrier is delivering today. |
| Delivered | Carrier recorded delivery (stage 5). | If nothing arrived, check safe places and neighbours first, then contact the retailer. |
| On Hold | Usually an address problem — the carrier cannot deliver because of a problem with the address. | Check with the retailer that they hold your correct address. |
| Delivery Attempt | An attempt was made; nobody was available. | Check for a card; the carrier may leave it in a safe place or with a neighbour, and tracking normally says where. |
| Relabelled | The carrier put a new barcode on the item (label print quality, wrong dimensions/weight, or label printed days early). | Nothing to do — Whistl keeps tracking against the original number. |
The 5-stage model is Whistl's own tracker code; the event labels are the usual tracker updates — the exact wording a recipient sees for a given parcel varies by partner carrier.

⚠️ No redelivery, no collection, no lockers
Whistl has no consumer-facing redelivery, collection-point or locker system: its portal offers tracking, FAQs and webchat only, and every delivery change goes through the sender or retailer. If nobody is home, the carrier may leave the item in a safe place or with a neighbour — and tracking normally records where. If you no longer want the item, refuse delivery and it is returned to the sender.
Parcel stuck or delayed — what to do
- Check the two fields together: the portal needs the full tracking reference AND the delivery postcode, exactly as on the order — a wrong or differently-spaced postcode is the most common reason a valid number returns nothing. If the retailer has not manifested the items yet, tracking will not appear at all — contact the retailer.
- No scan since collection: items get their first scan on receipt at a depot after collection. If nothing from a collection has scanned, the vehicle may not have reached the depot yet; if other items from the same collection have scanned and yours has not, it may have been quarantined on receipt — contact Whistl via webchat.
- Tracking stopped after a handover event: this is the normal InSight pattern. If the last event is 'handed over to Royal Mail', expect Royal Mail delivery one working day after handover — track the rest of the journey on Royal Mail, not here. If handed to another carrier, later events can still appear in the Whistl portal for fully tracked services.
- No update for 2–3 days (UK) or 3–4 days (international): Whistl's own advice is that this is most often a small delay in delivery or in the tracking system registering progress — but past that point it may be a real problem, so contact the retailer, who can investigate with Whistl.
- 'On Hold': almost always an address problem. The retailer may already be trying to contact you — check with them, and make sure they hold your correct address.
- Delivered but not received: check a safe place and neighbours either side or directly opposite first — the driver may have left it there, and tracking normally says so. If still missing, contact the retailer so they can investigate.

Contact Whistl
Customer servicesWhistl general enquiries, Mon–Fri 8:30am–5:30pm. But for a delivery question, contact the retailer first — Whistl's own help pages say so, and only the sender can raise a complaint or a claim with Whistl. Have your tracking reference and delivery postcode ready. Webchat for in-transit queries runs 7 days a week, 8am–11pm (excluding bank holidays).
If you are the recipient and the parcel is lost or damaged, contact the retailer/sender first — most couriers only accept claims from the sender.
Whistl tracking — FAQs
Why has my Whistl tracking stopped updating?
Most often a small delay in delivery or in the tracking system. If it has stopped for more than 2–3 days (UK) or 3–4 days (international), contact the retailer — they can investigate with Whistl. And if the last event is a handover to Royal Mail, that is the InSight pattern: tracking ends there by design, with Royal Mail delivery typically one working day after handover.
What does 'handed over to Royal Mail' mean?
Your parcel was sent on Whistl's InSight service, which is part-tracked: Whistl tracks it through its own network to the Royal Mail depot, and Royal Mail does the final mile. Expect delivery one working day after handover.
What does my Whistl tracking number look like?
There is no single format: Whistl manages parcels across several carriers, so the reference depends on the service. The portal accepts a tracking reference (also called a UPI or consignment number) plus your delivery postcode. Examples seen: a 22-character code like 011B004A41000415204001 or an 18-character code like L11324110MBJ108284 — format examples only, not real parcels.
My parcel shows as delivered but I haven't received it. What can I do?
Check a safe place and neighbours either side or directly opposite first — the driver may have left it there and tracking normally says so. If you still cannot find it, contact the retailer so they can investigate.
Can I change my delivery day, or collect my parcel somewhere?
Not through Whistl directly: there is no recipient redelivery, depot-collection or locker option. Any delivery change has to go through the retailer who sent the parcel. If you no longer want it, you can refuse delivery and it will be returned to the sender.
