DPD Local tracking

DPD's local franchise network — same Predict window and tracker, delivered by your local depot.

DPD Local is the DPD you get from a local business, not a big retailer. Same tracking system, same phone number, same app — the differences are the local depot behind it and a few extras the main DPD page doesn't cover.

Track your DPD Local parcel

Enter your parcel reference exactly as the sender gave it — there is no single DPD Local format. Add your delivery postcode too; the tracker asks for it.

There is no single DPD Local format. DPD parcel numbers run 10–14 digits — most commonly 14, for example 15501234567890. Enter the reference exactly as the sender gave it, with your delivery postcode.

DPD Local vs DPD UK — same system, local network

DPD Local is the former Interlink Express (founded 1979), rebranded DPD Local on 6 February 2017 — a network of local franchise depots (around 90 at the rebrand) serving smaller-volume local businesses, using the same DPD technology as DPD UK. Its tagline is “Your local delivery experts”.

That is the whole confusion, answered: if your label, email or van says “DPD Local”, your parcel is tracked on the same Follow My Parcel system, with the same Predict one-hour window and the same phone number as DPD UK. The tracker below is DPD Local's own address, but it is the same app in DPD Local branding — either address tracks a DPD parcel.

DPD Local also has a send-a-parcel arm for people sending parcels themselves: DPD Local Online (now at send.dpd.co.uk) lets you send a parcel from £2.99 (£2.49 plus VAT).

Your DPD Local tracking number

There is no single DPD Local format. DPD parcel numbers run 10–14 digits — most commonly 14, for example 15501234567890. Enter the reference exactly as the sender gave it, with your delivery postcode.

Example format: 15501234567890 — that is a shape, not a real parcel. Enter your own number exactly as the sender gave it: a single wrong letter is the most common reason a tracker says “not recognised”.

The tracker also accepts a calling-card number with the delivery postcode — the same mechanism as DPD UK.

What only DPD Local adds

Everything shared — Predict, Follow My Parcel, Pickup shops, the status lifecycle — works the same as DPD UK. See the DPD UK tracking page for the full detail on those. What DPD Local adds, and the DPD UK page does not cover:

  • Offshore delivery — two-day standard to the Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Northern Ireland and the Scilly Islands, with next-day and before-noon in certain locations.
  • Freight — a simple rate structure for items over 30 kg and up to 350 kg.
  • expresspak bags — ready-to-go bags supplied free for items up to 1 kg (expresspak1) and 5 kg (expresspak5).
  • Sunday delivery nationwide — an industry-first Sunday service, giving nationwide coverage seven days a week.
  • Pickup collection needs 2 pieces of ID — photo ID plus ID with your address on it, such as a utility bill. Your parcel is ready for collection by midday tomorrow.
  • Predict window usually by 12 noon — the one-hour window is generated after the driver has scanned the day's parcels onto the vehicle, usually by noon on delivery day.
  • Automatic neighbour attempt — if you're not in, DPD Local will automatically try to leave your parcel with your neighbour (unless the shipper asked for a signature).
  • Upgrade delivery to By 12 — an in-flight option to upgrade to a premium timed service.
  • Reverse-it returns — recall and relocate stock, with ad-hoc returns picked up while the driver is making a delivery.

Statuses — the same DPD lifecycle

DPD Local publishes no status glossary of its own. The statuses are DPD's shared lifecycle — label created, collected / at hub, at delivery depot, out for delivery, delivered, and “sorry we missed you” — and they mean the same here as on the DPD UK tracking page, where each one is explained in full.

Two DPD Local timings to know: the Predict window usually arrives by 12 noon on delivery day, and a parcel redirected to a Pickup shop is ready by midday tomorrow.

Two things you can't do

You can't change your one-hour delivery slot — but you can still get your parcel by changing the day, the neighbour, the safe place or the Pickup shop. And the driver can't come back the same day. To change a delivery address, contact the sender — DPD Local will not change an address without the shipper's consent.

Parcel stuck or delayed — what to do

  1. If tracking shows only “label created” after 24 hours, the parcel may still be with the sender — ask the sender whether DPD Local has collected it.
  2. If the parcel is at a hub with no movement for 2 days, check the DPD app or site for a revised estimate before calling anyone; hub delays usually clear on their own.
  3. If your Predict window passed with no delivery, check Follow My Parcel — the driver may have been delayed by earlier stops. Remember the window is generated after the driver scans the day's parcels onto the vehicle, usually by 12 noon — before noon on delivery day, no window yet is normal.
  4. If it says delivered but you have nothing, check the DPD delivery photo, the safe place and neighbours (DPD Local tries the neighbour automatically) and any Pickup point it may have been taken to — then contact the sender with your parcel number and postcode.
  5. To change the delivery address, contact the sender or shipper; DPD Local will not change a delivery address without the shipper's consent.
  6. If you were in and the driver didn't call, find where the driver left your “sorry we missed you” card, then choose the redelivery or collect option on it.

DPD Local has no phone number of its own — use DPD's central line +44 121 275 0500 (Mon–Fri 8am–6.30pm, Sat 8am–4pm, Sun 9am–3pm, not bank holidays), or the DPD app chat 24/7. For depot-level help, DPD Local's Help page points you to your local depot. Have your parcel number and delivery postcode ready.

If you are the recipient and the parcel is lost or damaged, contact the retailer/sender first — most couriers only accept claims from the sender.

DPD Local tracking — FAQs

Is DPD Local the same as DPD?

Yes, same company and same tracking system: DPD Local is DPD UK's local franchise network (formerly Interlink Express). Your parcel is tracked on the same Follow My Parcel system, with the same Predict window and the same phone number.

What does a DPD Local tracking number look like?

There is no single DPD Local format. DPD parcel numbers run 10–14 digits (most commonly 14); enter the reference exactly as the sender gave it, with your delivery postcode.

Why haven't I got my one-hour Predict window yet?

DPD Local sends the window after the driver has scanned the day's parcels onto the vehicle, usually by 12 noon on delivery day. Before noon, no window yet is normal.

Can I collect my DPD Local parcel from a shop?

Yes, redirect it to a DPD Pickup shop; it is ready by midday tomorrow. Bring 2 pieces of ID — photo ID plus something with your address, like a utility bill.

My DPD Local parcel was left with a neighbour — is that normal?

Yes: if you're not in, DPD Local automatically tries your neighbour first (unless the sender asked for a signature). You can set a preferred neighbour or a safe place in advance.

Who do I contact about a DPD Local parcel?

DPD Local has no phone number of its own; call DPD's central line +44 121 275 0500, use the DPD app chat 24/7, or use the Help page on dpdlocal.co.uk — which can point you to your local depot.
